Super Star Rajanikant stood by Kamal Hasan who plunged into problems because of the hurdles that faced the release of his 'Viswaroopam'. It may be recalled that the film faced hurdles for release in Tamil, Telugu and Kannada languages.

The Tamilnadu government had initially postponed the film's release as Muslims agitated, stating the film hurt their sentiments. AP Home Minister Sabita Indra Reddy also stopped screening of the film in the state, responding to the objections of some Minority organizations.

However, super star Rajini Kant said it was improper to paint communal colour to the film which Kamal made with a heavy budget as his dream project. Stating that Kamal had taken the Tamil film to the world level, Rajini said he never produced a film that hurt the sentiments of anyone.

He said he had never found Kamal to have such feelings in his 40 years friendship with him and requested his Muslim fans not to oppose the film. He said if they had any doubts, they could discuss with Kamal and sort them out. He said it was not proper to demand ban on the film. Rajini thus proved to be a true friend.
