In a shocking incident, a Dalit woman in Kerala delivered a baby in the toilet after a nurse refused to take her complaint of pain seriously. The incident took place in Manjeri Medical College and Hospital.
As per her family members, the woman was admitted to the hospital and when she complained of severe pain, a nurse insisted that she needed to urinate to reduce the pain. And when she went to the toilet, she could not sit and cried out pain. Immediately, an attendant rushed to the toilet and took the baby out.
Later, the baby and mother were shifted to the Intensive Care Unit.
The State Health Minister K.K.Shailaja told the media that the Malappuram district medical officer has been ordered to submit a report on the incident and action will be taken for any lapses.
