Mohan Babu as Seemandhra emissary?
04:14 PM on 22nd January, 2013

Tension is mounting in leaders of both the regions as the date set by the center for announcing decision on Telangana is nearing. Both the leaders are preparing to use all the weapons in their arsenal for achieving their avowed goals. The latest news is that actor Mohan Babu may stand in the front row of this war of two regions.

Mohan Babu has a very close relationship with the union home minister Sushil Kumar Shinde. They both were nominated to the rajya Sabha at the same time. From then on they have been becoming closer by the day. When Shinde came to AP as the governor, Mohan Babu used to frequently meet him. Shinde also used to visit the hero’s house. Now as the Telangana solution is in its final stage, Seemandhra leaders are trying to use Mohan Babu’s good offices. They are discussing about sending him as an emissary as he has also been for keeping the state united.

However, another group is rejecting this proposal. There are some in the party who question if the union government would stop conceding Telangana simply because Mohan Babu said so. They are arguing that the Congress high command had not given the deciding authority to Shinde, though Shinde has been handling the issue being the home minister. They say the  final deciding authority was none other than the Congress supremo Sonia Gandhi.
