Controversial writer Salmaan Rushdie made satirical remarks on Congress's new vice-president Rahul Gandhi. He called Rahul an empty slate, and said that he is waiting to see who writes what on this slate.

'Rahul talks about changing the entire India. He talks about his desire to see new India during his speeches. Where was he when the entire country was protesting the Delhi gang rape?,' the writer questioned.

Indirectly indicating Modi, Rushdie said that he has not yet forgotten the Godra issue in Gujarat and claimed that no action has been taken on those responsible for it. It is already known that director Deepa Mehta made a movie based on Rushdie's novel 'Midnight Children'.
